The story:

It's hard to make out Bryan Ferry's rather affected singing voice. At age thirteen, knowing nothing of big American trucks, I heard "sturdy baker" and not "Studebaker". Then, after discovering there were such things as gay men, I combined this with the
affected singing voice and thought he was having a scene with a studly baker. OK, I thought, if that's what puts the hole in his doughnuts, we're all open-
minded here...
