Why don't we fix some beef stew

The story:

Actually I "accidentally-on-purpose" misheard this line. I was at home with my two small children (ages 3 & 5) one evening, listening to Jimmy Buffet while cooking supper. When this song came on, it occurred to me that I didn't want my children to hear the real lyric - so I came up with these words out of sheer panic/desperation. By the time the song was over, we were all 3 singing the new lyric at the top of our lungs, and my little tots of course didn't know they were singing it wrong. Now that they are adults in their 20's (and therefore have learned the real lyrics), we all still sing it the wrong way and laugh about that long-past evening in the kitchen.
