The story:

when I was preparing a lecture about language for first year psychology students I saw a reference to this website. Trying to find some good examples of 'mishearings' to illustrate how difficult it is to actually perceive spoken language, I looked around a little bit, had a laugh about all the people that got it so wrong.... and then stumbled upon this lyric, and realised I was one of those people! So, i will definitely use this lyric as an example in my lecture, including some of the versions I found on your website, and my own (whether I will tell the students wich one is mine, I'm not sure yet....)
