My friend and I were obsessing over Oasis.. And I had thought that it said "you and I, will never die" so I thought it would be funny if they played that song at band members funerals, as in that case the lyrics would be ironic... and I said in a tone implying it was going to lead to an amusing conclusion "I wonder how people would feel if they played this at their funeral..?" (getting ready to mention how ironic it would be)
my friend then said "Probably devastated, esp when 'you and I will live and die' comes into it"
"Because....." I stopped mid sentence with nothing else to say.. as my joke was flawed... now the amused tone seemed inappropriate... and I didn't want to admit I had thought the words were something else... then I got paranoid that she had said that because all that time it had annoyed her that I sang it wrong, when we'd burst into sing alongs...
so I just stared into the distance and acted thoughtful and said "yeah..."
