I've thought that these were the words ever since I first heard the
song in the early 1980s. It didn't make any sense, and it was
disgusting, but try as I might, I couldn't come up with any other
interpretation. I always thought it was some sort of fetish/
bondage thing.
Since the video for this song was in heavy rotation during the early
days of MTV, I suspected that my version was wrong. I confirmed it
recently by looking it up in a lyrics database.
