The story:

I'd heard the song on the radio a number of times, and it was
before I could drive, so I'd heard the term 'parking lights' but didn't
know what they were for, so it seemed logical to me that when you
reached a parking lot, you would put on your parking lights! I was
with a friend and we were talking about the song, and I started
singing it, and she started laughing her head off and corrected me.
