The story:

I was something like 3 years old when I first remember hearing this song. When I was perhaps 10 years old, some friends and I were riding in the car with my mother and singing happily along with the radio until I was corrected. After 7 years of singing it loudly and incorrectly, I was completely dis-illusioned. My friends still make fun of me because of it, and my husband and I have now made a game of purposely attempting to mis-hear lyrics and see how silly they can get.
