this song was popular when i was nine. so one day we were using our truck to help a family friend with his fence. the back was loaded with fence posts and bags of cement. the song came on the radio. without pausing i just sang along with my lyrics. i don't know what shocked me more. the pain, or how fast my dad slapped me. our friend just ignored it, looking straight ahead the whole time.
