The story:

My family was decorating Christmas cookies, singing carols, and
just generally being a Christmas commercial waiting to happen
when I let loose with my interesting interpretation. When the rest
of my family was able to breathe again, the explained my mistake.
At least they were impressed that a six-year-old knew what "peril"
meant.
