The story:
The moment of revelation was during karaoke night. The sudden, shocking realization that I had been using the wrong lyrics for over two decades really threw off my performance.
I thought they just had the wrong lyrics on the karaoke disk, but I had always wondered what these "three things I lack" might be. So ten years later I looked on the Interwebs, and I found that I was, indeed, wrong.
