The story:
Ok, in my defense, I was a kid when I heard the song. And I didn't speak Japanese.
I was in the car with my husband 20 years later and this tune came on the radio and my husband was singing along.... when he got to the "Domo Arigato" part I said under my breath...."oooooooooh THAT'S what they're saying"
It took him days to get me to tell him what I THOUGHT they were saying all these years and he is STILL laughing at me about it.
