"Sweet Loretta fat, she thought she was a cleaner, but she was a frying pan..." spoken by John at the beginning of the album version.

actually, in the second verse there´s a line that says:
sweet loretta martin thought she was a woman
but she was another man
so it isn´t so misheard

I honestly heard it that way, too. After all, it was on the radio with "Lola" when I was growing up, so it didn't seem too far-fetched.

Wow! I'm 56 years old and until right this minute I thought the lyrics were "Jo Jo was a man who thought he was a woman." Song makes a LOT more sense now!!!!!!

Until today I tought it was "Jo Jo was a man who thought he was a woman, but he was another man"
I told my husband about it. Until today he tought it was "Jo Jo was a man who thought he was an owner" and knew it didn't make sense but they knew what they were doing!
