    Karianna, baby sun!

    Artist: Kansas
Real Lyric: Carry on my wayward son

    The story:

I heard the song on the radio while on vacation with my sister. We both loved it even though we didn't really know what they were singing. It just seemed like a pretty song about a girl with a pretty name--Karianna. Later my best friend and I heard it in a movie and apparently she loved the song as much as I did. I told her that I loved that name and she sort of looked at me like I was crazy, but I'm used to that and just shrugged it off. A while later I was trying to tell my other sister about this song that I had just heard and realized I loved. She wasn't sure what it was by my description so she had me sing it for her. I did. I sang with true emotion, "Karianna, baby sun!", and I was really confused when she started laughing. She told me what it really said (through fits of laughter) and left me embarrassed and upset at my own stupidity. I actually wish someone would have let me know sooner before I led such a trail of embarrassment. I still love the song (words don't always matter!), but now before I sing anything outloud I look up the lyrics first!
