THE MISHEARD:
"My bowels ache, ah!"
The story:
Not me - my friend in high school - who used to mishear A LOT of lyrics - thought good ol' Barry was singing "My bowels ache, ah!" until I heard her sing it, and asked her, "now, why in heaven's name would anyone sing words like that, anyway?" She had to admit I was right, and then I explained what he was REALLY saying. (She used to misunderstand a lot of lyrics, though she had a great singing voice that she sang all those wrong lyrics with!)
