The story:

Well, the album blackbird of Alter Bridge is relatively new, so I lived with the misheard lyric for quite a few months.
Well, I always sang the song Ties that blind in my car, I think I had the lyrics correct, except the Chorus saying 'the whisky is worth again' which I never really understood but I said to myself it must be correct maybe he drains his thoughts in delicious scotch. One day, the person next to me asked me if I would sing about whisky and I answered yes. He laughed really really hard and he told the real line is "the risk is worth the gain".
I haven't been singing this particular line since then.
